Monday's Supermoon promises to be a spectacular event, with the moon appearing larger than it has in over 60 years! Will you be watching the skies on November 14th? In this week's blog post, we help you get ready for this awe-inspiring phenomenon with 10 Supermoon Facts!

1. The supermoon will be in the sky throughout the night, after becoming full at 1:52pm.

2. The moon is bigger than it normally is because it's the closest it gets to Earth on its orbit.

3. A combination of the moon being at its closest to Earth and the timing of the moon also being full creates the phenomenon known as supermoon.

4. The supermoon appears up to 14% larger and 30% brighter than the moon usually does.

5. This supermoon is the closest the moon has been to Earth since 1948.

6. It will be another 18 years before a moon this size is in the sky again - on November 25th, 2034.

7. We will have another, not-so-big supermoon on December 14th, this year.

8. If we get clear skies on Monday, the best place to view the supermoon from is a high, dark area, such as Hampstead Heath.

9. The moon will be so large, you won't need a telescope to appreciate its magnificence. Although if you do have magnifying equipment, you could bring it along to get a rare super-close look at the moon's surface.

10. Will you miss the supermoon? Maybe if you have other commitments you won't get the opportunity to see it. But don't worry, the moon will only be slightly smaller on Tuesday night, so you can see it then!
